New York Fashion Week – Tommy Hilfiger

By Alicebodkin94 @AliceBodkin

So Tommy Hilfiger has always been a brand to embrace a preppy style. And for this New York Fashion Week, there has been no exception. The fashion branded tweeted today ‘Precise and classic, but never stuffy. Rooted in British tradition, but unmistakably American‘. And I could not agree or love it more!

And it could have not been in better timing, as the Ivy Style currently exhibits at The Fashion Institute of Technology. The preppy style commenced at the Ivy League universities, Harvard, Yale, but most particularly at Princeton in the 1930′s. An exhibition that is well worth a visit!

You could have been a student at Princeton at Hilfiger’s catwalk today, with the preppy styled bookcases on the runway and the black and white tiled floor. A library scene to say the least. But you get to study the extraordinary scenes of Hilfiger’s catwalk, from blazers, to cut lines and dog tooth designs. As always, it safe to say the second day of New York Fashion Week has been an absolute treat.
