Universal (via USAToday) has released some new photos from the Tom Hooper directed Les Miserables. This looks like it could garner an Oscar nomination for Hugh Jackman (long overdue). While my only experience with Tom Hooper is the Academy Award winning film, The King’s Speech, I really hope that this is a successful film adaptation. I saw the musical for the first time late last year and I really enjoyed it. Fantastic music and a large sprawling cast. Other than Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, there’s new pictures of Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert and Anne Hathaway as Fantine.

Les Miserables opens December 14th.
