Since having the Little A’s we have not really started any of our own family traditions at Christmas. I remember having certain little things when I was small that we did every year and I thought it would be nice to have something that we could do every year as a family.
I saw someone mention a while ago about putting together a box of goodies that was opened on Christmas Eve and I thought it sounded like a lovely idea. Quite often we are staying with family so it is difficult to do anything that is too ‘home’ orientated so I thought this would be perfect.
This weekend I have put together our Christmas Eve box and I can’t wait to see the Little A’s faces when they see it!
They both have a new onesie and slippers; there is a stocking in there for each of them and a little Christmas teddy; I have made up some reindeer food to sprinkle outside before bed; I have also included a lovely Christmas book to read once they get their new pj’s on.
I really want to make the most of the Little A’s whilst they are still young enough to enjoy the magic of Christmas. Recent family events have made me appreciate what I have even more and I want to look back to lots of fun and laughter and want them to look back fondly on their childhood too. I am hoping bringing in these new traditions whilst they are still small enough to enjoy them will create great memories for us all.
