Network = Net Worth

Hey again. Tony here.  Since I have been traveling a lot lately I've been around a variety of all sorts of different people and I noticed how much of an influence they have on me.  So that brings me to my topic today: The books you read and the people you surround yourself with is the average of YOU.
What does that mean?  I got this idea from Jim Rohn's quote: "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with."  What I get from this quote is that if I surround myself around driven, successful, like-minded individuals; they will rub off on me and I will soon be the same as them, if not better because I learned from their mistakes.  Let's say I hang out with 5 millionaires.  Eventually I too will become a millionaire because I learned and practiced their work habits.  How about I hang out with 5 articulate bloggers?  Would I become a successful blogger myself?  In due time.  Now don't get me wrong, I think you should have the most influence on yourself.  But isn't it true that the people we surround ourself with have an effect on our lives?
Yes Indeed.  I just got done with an intense 3 day that turned into a 4 day real estate investing conference with Renatus.  The right side (creative) of my brain is still tingling from all the good knowledge put into it.  I could go on about everything I learned, but I that would take another entire blog.  One of the speakers at the convention was the coauthor of Rich Dad Poor Dad, Sharon Lechter.   Sharon referred to Napoleon Hill's book Think and Grow Rich quite a few times.  References like: Teamwork makes the dream work.
You control your environment.  Is it positive or negative?
Who is on your team?  Are they cheering you on or holding you back?
Are they adding value or taking it away?  Those are just a few questions you need to ask yourself when you look at your surroundings.
Since I am naming off books I just googled Network = Net worth and found out there is a book all about it by Porter Gale.  Another book to read!  Porter thrives on meeting new people and believes that connections are a key factor of our success, productivity, and happiness.  Since I have been traveling a lot and networking with successful entrepreneurs I have opened up my creative side.  Networking has also given me more confidence in my ideas because I am sharing them with people who are creative as well and they want to share their ideas with me as well.
Obviously the books you read will help improve your lifestyle wherever you want it to go.  Since about 2 years ago I have become a self-development book reading junkie.  The books I have read expanded my brain to places I never knew existed.  And if you are like me and listen better than you read there are audio books as well.  In my previous blog about having a positive life I mentioned the phone app Audible where you can download and listen to audio books.  I need to increase my reading because the average CEO reads 4-5 books a month!
So I am off to head back home and make plans for my next venture of meeting successful entrepreneurs I can learn from and become influenced.  I hope everything I mentioned above helps you and inspires you to expand your social circle.  Do not hesitate to meet someone.  You never know how useful you can be to them or how useful they can be to you.
