Our first Pink Time Out short getaway from all things breast cancer is scheduled for April 2, 2013 at the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, North Carolina. It is the beginning of getaways across the USA and Canada, 36 locations in all, as a part of the Pink Time Outs© Program.

Why funded getaways?  A diagnosis of breast cancer followed by months of treatment is an emotionally as well as physically draining experience. The Pink Time Outs© Program is about using short getaways to put closure on the end of active treatment and facilitate the transition to life as a survivor. The goals of this program are simple:

•A physical and mental break from all talk, sights and routines that remind us of breast cancer

•The opportunity to feel refreshed in mind, body and spirit

•To enjoy a much-needed time out to recreate and participate in normalizing activities

•The freedom to think about something other than breast cancer, to begin thinking about what comes next as a survivor

The Biltmore getaway is open to any breast cancer survivor who is transitioning from active treatment or has completed treatment within the past year. Both the survivor and an accompanying companion must be US citizens or legal residents with a green card and must be 21 years of age or older.

Visit Pink Time Outs© and learn all about this new program. While you are there, if you qualify, why not sign up for the lottery award of the Biltmore getaway? Someone is going to win. Why not you? Besides, the price is right!

This first getaway is funded through contributions from the Board of Directors and Staff of No Boobs About It.
