General Description
The liver is one of the mandatory organs in the human body which performs diversified functions necessary for the smooth running of the body. It is considered as the largest gland which comprises around 2% of an average adult's body weight. The liver plays an important role in bile production, maintaining the metabolism of bilirubin and drugs. It also manages the level of thyroid hormones in the blood.
What is Fatty Liver?(مرض الكبد الدهني)
This chronic liver condition is also termed as hepatic steatosis, which occurs when fat starts accumulating in the liver. This causes liver inflammation which ultimately results in liver failure.
There Are 2 Types of Fatty liver Conditions
A.AFLD (Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease)
AFLD is associated with excessive alcohol intake and is dominantly observed in males. This triggers inflammation and weakens your immune system.
NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease)
NAFLD is a condition in which there is an excess accumulation of fat in the liver and can affect the individual who drinks little or no alcohol. NAFLD develops to Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which is symbolized by liver inflammation and Cirrhosis/liver failure.

Diagnosis of Fatty Liver
1. Blood tests - If the person is having higher levels of aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), which are the important enzymes for the proper functioning of the liver.
2. Imaging tests - Fatty liver condition can be scanned by MRI, CT scan and Ultrasound.
