• One in every hundred people all over the world suffer from this illness so we are no longer talking about them, but us.
• The fear of contamination it engenders in others is real but schizophrenia does not contaminate others. The stigma of mental illness has become a disease, a really virulent cancer.
• Some people suffering from a mental illness are treated as second class citizens because the stigma deprives them of the support and the love so desperately needed in order to survive.
• NO MORE STIGMA PLEASE. LET’S HELP ONE ANOTHER TO LESSEN THE STIGMA.
