Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my readers and guests!!!!
I hope your Valentine’s day is special and wonderful.
I wanted to try to make this day special for my children.
My husband and my children are the great loves of my life!
unfortunately, the hubby has to be out-of-town this Valentine’s day.
Last night I decided to do a little decorating in the kitchen so the kids would have a special something to wake up too.
I did not have much time to put anything together or a chance to run to the store alone so I had to use what I had at home.
This is what I came up with…..
I hung paper hearts on string all across the curtain rod.
I thought they looked so pretty in the morning light.
The kids saw them and they were so excited!
Kids are so easy to please.
A little effort can go a long way.
Faith kept touching them and smiling and telling me what color each one was.
Pink, pink, pink, red, pink…ect.
I told the children I also was going to make a special breakfast for them.
A chocolate heart waffle was on the menu along with…
A strawberry-raspberry-banana smoothie with a white chocolate heart on top.
Nothing spectacular but my children thought it was amazing!
They all rushed to the table and settled in their seats for prayers.
Jacob lead prayers and this is verbatim what he said “Dear God, thank you for this yummy waffle. Thank you for my mommy who made it. Thank you for love and for Valentine’s day. Amen.”
How sweet is that!
So after the sweet prayer I allowed the kids to drown their waffles in sweet syrup. (It’s Valentines day! Why not?)
It’s a good thing I snapped this picture when I did because these plates were empty in a flash.
A good start to a fun day and I hope you all have had a good start too!
