My Top Apps

By Inafarawaytree @EmilyJ_S

I have had an iPhone for a good few years, but a couple of months ago my trusty one broke, it’s amazing how much you miss a piece of technology; everything was in it, my life in a bit of mechanics. So without one for a couple of months was painful, but I’ve now got a replacement after months of agony. I feel like I’ve been reunited with a best friend. As I have none of my old pictures and apps etc. (I hadn’t heard of iCloud), I’ve had to have a fresh start. Whilst recollecting apps together, and keeping it a simple collection of the ones I really want and use (last time I had pages full of rubbish freebies), my appreciation for the gadgety soulmate was rekindled and I’ve decided to jot out my favorite apps. Wether they are old, trusted ones that I know like the back of my hand, or new ones that I’ve just discovered, here they all are (in no particular order:

1. Twitter
2. Facebook
3. Google Chrome
4. The DailyMail
5. Instagram
6. WordPress
7. Snapchat
8. Over
9. ChicFeed
10. Photo Editor
11. Scramble
12. eBay
13. Cloth
14. Shopstyle
15. My Fitness Pal
16. Company magazine
17. Errands
18. My Wonderful Days
19. Houzz
20. Real Memoboard

1. The usual Twitter, to let everybody know what I’m doing on the go, not that they care, but I can nose at everybody else.
2. I don’t really use facebook but use it as I’m an admin for my mums page for http://www.algarvianlife.co.uk and get the updates etc.
3. As I much prefer Chrome to other search engines, I find it faster and I like the search bar!
4. I love to keep up to date with the news wherever I am, I check it every couple of hours as I’m interested as to what’s going on in the world and current affairs, I prefer the DailyMail to The Sun as its less boobs and sport, but its still a tabloid to me, so provides a good amount of controversy!
5. I’m very very snap happy and like to post pictures of various things on there throughout the day, it’s always nice to have a good nose at everybody else’s pics too!
6. WordPress, so I can blog on the go! I love the nifty app anyway, so simple. I can blog from my iPad or iPhone and get a quick post up when I need to.
7. It’s on everybody’s tongue at the moment and when I’m bored I can have a bit of fun snapping strange pictures to friends and receiving them back, keeps me entertained!
8. I downloaded this for the lovely image and font overlays that you can apply, great for instagramming, or for when I’m blogging recipes.
9. Just to have a browse through some glam people and their lovely style, can find style tips, where to buy things and style inspirations. Sometimes when I’m stuck for what to wear ill flick through the looks on there for some inspiration and ideas.
10. As I’m always wanting changes made to my pictures, it’s always there for the plenty of photo sharing apps I use.
11. When I get a minute I challenge myself to a wordy game and it reawakens my brain for a short moment, I like it because its simple, easy and fun. Plus it’s pretty much the same as boggle – something which I’ve played over and over again with my family. Nostalgia anyone?
12. For selling, for buying and for browsing. Connected to my PayPal and push notifications on, I can bid on a bargain dress even in a meeting.
13. I like to post outfit posts and sometimes they can get on people’s nerves, this apps JUST for those kind of posts, easy to use and with the ability to store outfits and looks into your ‘wardrobe’ you can also look back to see what you can wear one day, or compare outfits go get mix and match inspiration!
14. When you know what you want to buy but cannot be bothered to traipse through online stores, you can find a collection of stores together on here so you can browse more than one collection of shoes – that’s smart and easy shopping and that’s what I like!
15. I check everything I’ve consumed throughout the day from the smallest bite, including all drinks. I then also check in exercise and see how many calories I have had throughout the day, it then also motivates me by telling me how much I will weigh in 5 weeks time if everyday was like that day. It’s also easy to use as there is a large database of foods so it picks up various brands etc. A step towards my summer bod!
16. For a read in between hours.
17. I have lots of things to try and remember in my job and if I don’t write them into errands and set a notification for them, I will completely forget to do them or lose the paper I wrote them on. It’s like having a P.A to tell you what’s what, but a lot cheaper!
18. Sometimes, not all the time, I like to jot down my thoughts into a journal. Either handwritten or on here. You can add images etc and rate you feelings for the day, they are then also stored for you to look back at – either motivation, inspiration or for memories. A nice way for me to sit and chat to myself.
19. Gorgeous pictures of house interior, they are all amazing. I either sit and dream at the pictures thinking how lovely they are, gain inspiration from them for my own room or motivate myself to get my act together so that one day maybe ill afford one like that.
20. For jotting notes, ideas, inspirations, images, clippets, snippets etc. into an app and making it look appealing – great for making a moodboard for design, or to express some creativity!
