Today I’d like to share with you, my newest online obsession:
I know a lot of you will most likely disagree with me on using Tumblr and the effectiveness of it, however, like with most things, it has a lot to do with WHAT you put into it.
Tumblr allows you to have a primary blog as well as many secondary blogs under one (1) email account. I currently have one (1) primary and two (2) secondaries.
What’s the difference?
The primary blog is the one you used to sign up on Tumblr with. With primary blogs, you get the full use of Tumblr features: Like, Follow, Ask, Reply, Submit, and Reblog.
With secondary blogs, which by the way you can create ten (10), you don’t get the full use of all features however, you can password protect you blogs and add multiple users. The features they lose are the ability to Like, Follow, Ask, or Submit to other blogs.
For more information on the differences, please visit Tumblr directly.
Benefits of Using Tumblr
The ability to microblog is awesome imo. I follow over 250 blogs on Tumblr. Not all of them are as active as others. I currently have 51 followers of my All Things Bren blog on Tumblr.
All Things Bren on Tumblr
I have Liked over 1500+ posts on Tumblr as well as Reblogged a gazillion.
Ok I’m over exaggerating but I have reblogged MANY others blogs because I found them interesting and useful for others.Oh but wait, you want BENEFITS of using Tumblr. Hmm… for me, personally, I find it therapeutic. There is a wealth of knowledge out there as well as inspiration. If I’m having a bad day, I now head over to Tumblr and read some of the many Inspirational and Beautiful quotes. These are sure to put a smile on my face.
I also Follow several touristic attractions such as: Cape May, NJ, Virginia Beach, VA, Cancun, Mexico and several others just to keep the beauty of these places in my sight.
The multitude of technical related sites are phenomenal. If Tech is your thing, I highly recommend you giving it a look-see. What about spirituality or humor, it’s definitely there!
Let us not forget NETWORKING with like-minded people. I know several bloggers are on Tumblr using it in different ways. My good friend Lisa, has blogged about Tumblr a few times over at Inspire To Thrive. I highly recommend you read Lisa’s Tumblr Tips to Help Grow Your Blog and Social Mentions and 7 Awesome Reasons to use Tumblr.
How Can You Use Tumblr?
I use Tumblr in conjunction with my blog, although it’s name is not My Girly Parts, simply because it’s everything to do with me, just not blogging.
I use Tumblr to:

- Get ideas for blog posts
- Find interesting topics to share to my Facebook pages as well as Twitter and G+
- Keep in touch with a few friends who are active on Tumblr
- Detox from everyday bs in my life
- Find Inspiration, Motivation, and Happiness via the many sites that post Quotes
- Learn more about the military and equipment
- Increase my knowledge about military related medical issues, including PTSD
- Follow New Related sites as well as Health Related
- Share my blog post to increase visibility
- Ramble on and on about whatever is on my mind without worrying about if I’m offending someone, posting too many times, or whatever else people get irritated about
- Breaking News: Titan is now on Tumblr sharing his Adventures!

Lastly……
I’d just like to saw, I know even after reading the above, which I think is awesome stuff, you still may not want to use Tumblr and that’s fine!
