My Happiness Manifesto.

Happiness.

Happiness isn’t a feeling as much as it is a place. I love taking pictures because in them, I determine to have a mood.Oftentimes the mood helps me embrace my life more fully, and be more present.

I determine in this next decade of my life to be more ‘present’.
To defy the odds, and just because someone said it couldn’t be done, I will do it anyway.
To spend time walking in places where I can be barefoot, smell fresh air and laugh until my belly hurts.
To spend time visiting with friends, writing letters, and loving on family, and leaving a legacy of love, and merciful regard.
I am going to drink more chai tea, eat more succulent fruit, and enjoy every now & then, a salty caramel tiramisu dessert, and good ‘ole southern pies.

I am also committed to loving “me”…writing about what’s on my mind, saving lives by teaching & reaching for them in their writing, because to do so is my passion. I will love myself into self- actualization. I will learn to accept my flaws, be as transparent and honest with myself as I can be, and embrace and grow from my shortcomings.
I am going go ride my bike into the sunset, relax, meditate, walk more long walks and travel more trips; whether short or long.

I am going to rest.
Sleep late on Saturdays and Sundays, too. I am going to listen to jazz, classical and Kirk Whalum til the cows come home, and then some. And go on long rides in the country with the wind blowing through my hair.

Yea, that’s what I”m gonna do…
Selah.
