My Goodie Trays

Biscoff Bon-Bons

I got up this morning at 4:00 AM to start baking and making — treats for my goodie trays. I already attempted caramels last night. I got the recipe over at my friend’s blog Chocolate, Chocolate, and More Chocolate……sadly, I didn’t think my reading glasses were needed to tell what temperature the caramel was and it turned out so hard I could easily have used it as a weapon. I will try them again next week because Joan over at C,C, and MC makes the most tasty treats so I know the recipe will be scrumptious! I did make her recipe for Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix that Is-To-Die-For!!

First thing this morning, I made the Mint Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake from Confessions of a Cookbook Queen – well, minus the mint. I had some chocolate ganache left over from the other day so I slathered that on where The Cookbook Queen placed chocolate peppermint patties and it worked perfectly. Run over there and get the recipe because it tastes great and she has many more recipes to share.

I moved on to Peanut Butter Balls from Noelle O Designs. She had the recipe on yesterday and it rocks, just like my Nana’s except I wasn’t able to get Nana’s before she passed away. Once again, I made it a little differently because I didn’t want to use up all my peanut butter and I had a brand new jar of Biscoff sitting on the pantry shelf. I’ve been dying to try it and I thought this was the perfect venue to try it out. I call them Biscoff Bon Bons. As you can see, they don’t “roll” into a perfect ball but boy they sure taste great! I followed the rest of the recipe exactly. When you go check this site out – go look at this killer wreath that she made lickety-split, it is gorgeous!

Finally, I made Sweet Tea and Cornbread’s Bourbon Balls. I followed that recipe exactly up to and including the Maker’s Mark that we just happened to have sitting in the house. I soaked the pecans overnight as directed and these are so fantastic! I took about a dozen up to the flea market at noon when I took my husband his lunch……the other vendors swarmed around like chickens to the feed bowl. Several people asked me for the recipe and I directed them to her website. Y’all go on over there so some down home comfort food and tell her I sent ya!

I hope you enjoy and also have a very merry Christmas. Family time starts tomorrow morning and will come in shifts until late Christmas Eve. Then, Christmas Day is reserved for my husband and I only – but I’ll be back after that with a few New Year’s Eve recipes. Take care!!
