Some of my eagle eyed readers may have spotted a brand new badge has appeared on my blog today, for those of you that haven’t it’s right there, look, that big red, shiny new badge!!
As you can probably tell (and if you saw any of my excited tweets on Friday you will already know!) we are extremely excited to have been chosen as Butlins Ambassadors for 2013/2014.
So what does this mean? For the next 12 months I will be telling you all about Butlins and reminding you how many sleeps it is until we go and visit! Don’t worry, we haven’t booked yet so you have a few weeks before I really start bugging you!
I was extremely surprised and delighted that Butlins chose my family and my little blog to be an ambassador. Having only started my blog in October I didn’t think I stood much chance against some other great bloggers I knew had applied. When I started blogging I had no idea of the wonderful community I would become enthralled in or the amazing opportunities it would open up for me and my family. I feel like my hard work is really paying off and feel like I’m still contributing to the family now I am not working.
Now for the big question – where do we visit? My first thought was, oh lets just go back to Skegness. Both Big Mr A and I were born and bred in and around Skegness so the Butlins there has always been on our doorstep, although I don’t think either of us have visited for getting on 20 or so years! I remember going to the pool a few times when I was very young and then visiting with school for a ‘French’ day although I think I have tried to block that out of my memory!
Having been studying the Butlins website (yes studying, not just browsing!) the more we look, the more we quite like the idea of staying in one of the lovely looking hotels in Bognor Regis. OK it’s further to travel but we really like the idea of having the hotel experience and the facilities look great!
To add to the confusion there is also another park at Minehead which looks like a lovely area to visit and not somewhere we have been before.
Decisions, decisions! I’m sure wherever we pick we will have a great time. I’ve been on a lot of holiday park holidays when I was younger and used to love them; it will be great to be able to give my children the same experience.
