MUA Lip Boom Review

MUA Lip Boom

MUA are a brand that I am trying to become more familiar with. I have reviewed a few of their products on this blog and I am a big fan of their liquid eyeliner but aside from this I haven't found any other products that I really love. As a beauty blogger I follow and read a lot of other beauty blogs and so I had read a lot about the MUA Lip Booms. Recently, MUA have been running a lot of offers on their website so I thought it was time that I invested in a few of their new products in a quest to find 'the one', and of course I ordered their much hyped Lip Boom too.

MUA Lip Boom in all its detachable glory!

The idea behind the Lip Boom is that it offers four different lip looks in one neat package. I really like MUA's packaging; it's simple and sleek and looks far more expensive than its price would indicate. The Lip Boom is a lip stick and gloss in one. The idea being that you can wear the lipstick and gloss on their own, together or apply the gloss to the center of the lips over the lipstick to give the lips a fuller look. Bizarrely, there is a detatchable part on the lipstick that doesn't really have a purpose, apparently it's some of the lipstick but this confuses me and don't really understand why they bothered.

I ordered the Lip Boom in OMG and the color is gorgeous, its a lovely coral colour, not dissimilar to Sleek's Barely There.  The packaging, minus the wierd detatchabe part, is nice as is the color. Although the color is lovely the lipstick is a little  dry, I have dry lips so like a product that has more moisture. The lip gloss contains pieces of gold glitter, which gives it a young and fun feel. The MUA Lip Boom's have a very strong vanilla smell that is a little overpowering. I am quite sensitive to smells, so this may not be as big a problem for some but I struggle with the scent.
I imagine that the Lip Booms will be a popular product. My 15 year old self would have loved it and I think this where the market for this product lies. The colours are bright, the scent sweet and the packaging is fun and funky and they cost just £3.00, all this along with the glitter in the lip gloss makes the MUA Lip Booms a teenager's dream! I'll be wearing the MUA's Lip Boom lipstick but not the gloss, however I bet a lot of younger girls will love this product
