Mouth Watering Kerala Payasam

Hi everyone, Onam is one of the great festival of Kerala, celebrated by people of all region and caste.

Semiya Payasam

There are several varieties of ‘payasams”. Yes I prepared a  Semiya Payasam, this payasam have the same taste of ambalapuzha paal payasam.

Ingredients :

1. Water    – 2 cup

2. Sago      – 1 cup

3. Milk      – 2 ½ cup

4. Vermicelli(broken into small pieces)     – ½ cup

5. Sugar   – 1 cup

6. Ghee   – 3 tablespoon

7. Cardamom pods   – 3 nos

8. Cashew nuts           – 15 nos

9. Raisins      – handful

Method of Preparation : 

Soak the sago in water for an hour.

Boil it with water

Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom the pan.

Heat the ghee and fry the vermicelli till light brown.

Fry the cashew nuts & cardamom pods in it.

Add vermicelli and sugar , milk & raisins.

Mix well and boil for about two minutes

Your payasam is ready and can be served hot or cold.
