More Love For Lorde ...

Posted on the 30 September 2013 by Tlb Music Blog @TLB_Blog
With Lorde making such a name for herself recently, it's no wonder that she has uploaded a multiple of tracks from her upcoming album, Pure Heroine, onto her YouTube channel. One of the ones we've noticed and couldn't help but talk about is, Buzzcut Season. In keeping with her melancholic but impossibly catchy pop sound, Lorde is still one we're hailing as one of the best new artists of this year.
More Love For Lorde ...You'll notice very early on that this one seems much daintier than her regular harsh and heartless beats that could be compared to Lana Del Rey. The main instrument of choice is a synth, which comes as little surprise, but the way in which it is being used here is indeed very different. It's simply a succession of different notes being played one after the other, only to be accompanied gently by a sweet little synthetic drum beat.
Lorde's vocal is also much more appealing in terms of how she comes across as a person. She seems innocent, sweet even, and you'd like to care for her, or for her to be your friend ... there's a lot less of the misery, and a lot more of the innocence ... whilst still managing to maintain the fact that she is indeed a creator of music - catchy music at that.
We wouldn't be shocked if some people thought that this didn't quite have enough about it. There's no drop, as such, and the simplicity that you are given is all that is served and nothing more will come from it. We think, however, that there's some absolute genius in this and, like The XX or London Grammar, only a few over the past few years have cottoned on.
We think this is going to be a particularly exciting album and find ourselves ever excited about the prospect of obtaining it come October 28th.
Paul.
