More Lies Out of Venezuela

Posted on the 18 February 2014 by Calvinthedog

An English language video put out by the opposition. It is pretty much a pack of lies.

Crime: Ok, can you please explain to me why it is the government’s fault that crime is so high. The implication is that Chavez created all of this crime, violence and homicide? How did he do that? How does an government or any administration set off a crime wave, much less a wave of homicide. The US sponsored governments in Central America have even worse crime waves and homicide rates? See any lying liars blaming them for murder? Of course not. What exactly is Chavez supposed to do about a crime wave or a high homicide rate? Explain. There are cops all over the streets. The prisons and jails are full and furthermore they are extremely dangerous. Chavez has tried to make the prisons more civilized places. A longstanding problem in Venezuela is that a lot of the criminals are the cops themselves. It  was this way before Chavez and it is this way after Chavez. Chavez has for the first time in the history of Venezuela tried to deal with the problem of criminal police.

Corruption: All Latin American governments are corrupt. Of the Left, Right and Center. It’s how they roll down there. The pre-Chavez governments were amazingly corrupt, and the Chavista regimes have also been corrupt. But the opposition is at least as corrupt as the Chavistas. Bottom line is any regime that comes to power in Venezuela will be corrupt so there is nothing to do.

No press freedom: I do not know what is going on recent days, but the opposition controls ~75% of the broadcast outlets in the country. The figure is the same for newspapers and news magazines. Further, the opposition press is allowed to lie like mad, to incite violence with their lies and even to participate in violent coups against the state. Despite all of that, they still don’t get their licenses pulled. In addition, all of the Internet is open to the opposition, and almost all of the opposition is on the Net.

Peaceful students: The students are rightwing privileged kids who go to private universities. As members of an elite upper middle class, I would  say that they are screwed by the Chavistas. This is why they are mad. They also lost an election. These are spoiled brats. They are going to get their way no matter what? They lost at the ballot booth, and now they are trying to overthrow the government by force. Babies.

They are not peaceful. They are blocking roads with burning tires. They stop vehicles, and armed with guns, pull everyone out of the car and commandeer the car. They have committed many acts of arson. They have attacked many government buildings and badly damaged a few of them. Most are armed with slingshots, broken bricks and in more than a few cases, firearms. Many police have been wounded so far by slingshots, rocks and even firearms. These peaceful students employ snipers on the rooftops of buildings to fire on Chavistas and cops. Some Chavistas have been killed.

As you can see in the video, some students have also been killed, three at last count. This may possibly be lamentable assuming they were not directly threatening anyone’s life. But violent demonstrations typically draw a violent police response. What do you expect? It is normal in every state on Earth.

The idiots who put out this video are calling for an end to all of this horrible violence. How bout we start at the beginning here? How about you guys stop rioting? That’s the best way I can think of to end or reduce the violence.

Millions of homicides every day in Venezuela.LOL. This is the usual language from the insane Venezuelan opposition. At millions of murders a day, Venezuela as a nation won’t last too long!

Women banging pots and pans in the streets. This happened in Chile too. Upper middle class and middle class housewives took to the streets every day under  Allende’s term, creating chaos. In a few years, a violent coup overthrew the government. See the pattern?

Illegitimate government: Somehow all Chavista regimes have been “illegitimate.” This is because supposedly they all won by fraud. But none of that is true. All Chavista elections were won in 100% free and fair elections. Venezuelan elections in fact are some of the most free and fair in the world, much more so than in the US. If Maduro won in a free and fair election, how is it he is illegitimate? It’s illegitimate simply because the wrong people won, that’s why!
