I have very oily eye lids so rely on eye primers a lot to keep eye shadow in place that little bit longer. I have been testing out two new ones and thought I would share my views on them with you.
The Nars Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base (£19) is a very light weight primer, it is a polymer and mineral powder mix that helps eye shadow to grip and stay on for longer. I was really surprised at how lightweight this was and wasn't sure it would do anything because of it. I was pleasantly surprised though as this really does help make everything stay in place. It comes out of the tube white but once applied is completely clear and matte and eye shadow just glides on top.
I have been trying the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer* (£15) for a little bit longer than the Nars and like it just as much. This has a doe foot applicator like the Nars but they are lot different in other areas. The Photo Finish Lid Primer is a thicker in texture and comes out a skin toned color that evens out the skin to leave a flawless base ready for shadow.
It helps you shadow to last all day without creasing or smudging and would work great just on its on to cover any flaws on the lid.
Overall these are both great eye primers and are definitely worth the splurge.
Have you tried either of these?
