Mixed Fruit Jam

By Harini
Recently my daughter has started  to create so much fuss about eating. The same dosa which she ate happily last month doesn't seem to appeal to her now :)So I am always in the look out for healthy at the same time tasty and attractive food for her.She is happy to eat sweets (as of now),so I thought making some fruit jam with very less sugar would make her eat idly or dosa. This was my first attempt so I just used small quantities of fruits whichever I had in hand. The jam was very tasty and my daughter enjoyed it a lot.I asked my mom for recipe and she said to use sugar syrup with one string consistency, but i was so lazy i just mixed the fruit and sugar directly :)
Mixed fruit jam
Ingredients:
1 large apple peeled and chopped
1 orange peeled and seeds removed and broken into sections
4 strawberries (optinal, I had in hand)
1 very ripe banana
1 handful of raisins soaked in water for 1 hour
Sugar
Method:
1.Blend all the fruits without adding water and measure in a cup
2. For one cup of measured fruit pulp, use about half or little less sugar (depending on the sweetness of the fruits)
3. Heat a non stick kadai ,add the fruit pulp and sugar, mix well and stir on low flame
4. Cook for about 20 minutes or till the mixture leaves the side of the kadai,on low flame stirring occasionally.
5. Store in a clean dry jar
Notes:
I did not use citric acid or lemon juice as the quantity i made was very small
Time : 30 minutes
Yield :3/4th of the raw fruit pulp quantity
