Missing The Mural!

By Therelishedroost
If you follow this blog you know I got my start as a decorative painter and muralist. I had a blast in the 90's as murals and trompe loeil where all the rage. Then the clean and serene entered design as people wanted to decompress from their hectic lives. Needless to say the wall finish craze slowed down and I went onto design instead. I must say that I do miss a good mural! I love murals that depict age or mimic a fabulous wall covering such as Degournay, Zuber or Gracie.  I love the use of layers that show an aging plaster affect as in the old homes of Europe.   I took a poll a while back about whether I should do a wall covering in my powder room or a Grisaille inspired mural, and the readers won- It was mural! I will finally be starting a Mural with tones of beiges and browns including some fun Jaipur elephants! I am excited and a bit nervous because its been a few years since I have done a full mural.  I hope to have it complete by December, wish me luck I think I will need it. For now enjoy some of my favorite rooms with murals.
