The first thing to hit, other than the drums, is the violin - an uncommon addition to what we've come to know of McFly. The whole backdrop, in fact, which soon hits home, is one that is much folkier and, a little more like Gary Barlow's new single, than that of their past ... which gives reason to suggest that the boys are getting a bit older and softening just a tad. However, the more you roll with it, and when it comes into the mix with the video, you'll come to really enjoy the four minutes they give you. The vocal is relatively lax, and the words are some that, despite being a little bit played on in the feature, come across quite lightly and relatively pretty.
The video, though, it moreso what you should be looking at and, it's not often that you'll hear us saying that. The fact that the boys are playing constantly on their age, the time they spent away, the announcements made over and over again ... and some of the outrageous things over recent years that have just been in the news or what not, really brings this all together and, their growth, as a group, really shows in a nice way. There's no doubt that this will make you smile, regardless of whether you like the music or not. If it's not the Michael Jackson impersonator, or the sign-language presenter ... it'll be McFly themselves who make you laugh with their antics.
Paul.
