In today's news, we have a Norwegian minister urging the UK not to leave the EU (note to Americans: in European politics, a "minister" often refers to a government official).
Why would the UK leaving the EU be relevant to would-be expats? Under EU law, many British people are working in mainland Europe while many Europeans have moved to Britain to take work. Since the subject of the UK leaving the EU has been raised several times and is becoming an issue at this time,  my worry is about all of the expats on each side of the Channel. Are they going to be forced to return home? Will British people be asked to leave their homes in mainland Europe? Just think of the economic problems this would cause.
I'm unsure what's going to happen here, but it's rather unsettling news for the New Year.
