As you knowI go to the doctor every Monday morning To get my methadone scriptI am still on daily dispensingAnd that is just fine with meAs it is really helpingI have no temptationAnd I feel a lot more stable
Yesterday I got a very uncomfortable pain in my abdomenIt was there all dayAnd got worse after I purgedI went to bed early last nightHoping it would be gone by this morningBut it wasn'tIt was still as sore when I got up this morningI told my doctorHe checked me overAnd said I had probably strained my stomach while purgingHe prescribed me some meds And I went on my way
After I collected my medsWe had to go to the vetAfter Honeys last appointment at the vet on FridayHer eye began to deteriorateIt was very redVery glazed and glassyAnd she developed a little black bubble on the upper part of her eyeballStraight away the vet said it didn't lookBut she couldn't actually say what it wasThe vet did a test to see if she still had sight in her eyeAnd it turns out that she is blind in that eyeMy heart sank when I heard thisI didn't want to hear any more
The vet said that we would continue with her meds until FridayWhen we go back for a follow up appointmentAnd if there's no improvementShe will refer is to an eye specialist in Derry Which is about 3 hours away
The vet really gave us no answersShe made the point that a vet is like a doctorThey don't specialise in anythingAnd so she didn't want to say too much until we see how she gets on this week
I left the vet feeling so disheartenedEven though the vet said that dogs can live a perfectly happy life with one eyeI still feel sorry for Honey
We will do everything we can to keep Honey comfortableShe will be thoroughly spoiled and pamperedSo I guess we just wait and seeAnd hope for the bestThat's all we can do For now
