Me Time

Posted on the 06 February 2016 by Dave Nevue

Since, I'm still at home taking care of baby A during the weeks I am in desperate need of some "me time" during the weekends. If we don't have anything planned on Saturdays I leave the kids with their dad and escape our house. I don't meet any friends, I just want to be on my own, with my own thoughts without someone constantly interrupting me. I usually go to a coffee place with free wifi : ). I can sit there for hours, working on my computer, or reading a glossy magazine or a breathtaking novel. I always have lunch there, not worrying too much about eating healthy, since they only have grilled sandwiches there...always delicious though. After a couple of hours I go to the gym which is really close. I can spend another couple of hours there, showering and using the sauna after working out. Afterwards I am a completely new person and a much better mom. Filled with new energy I have so much more love and patience for my family. Since my husband normally has to do some work on Sundays we don't spend a lot of time as a family on the weekends, but knowing that it is only for a limited period of time, I can live with that. When I go back to work things will be different. It's my best advice to all stay-at-home moms out there, give yourself a break! If you have the possibility, hand over the responsibility for the kids to the dad for a couple of hours and give yourself some ME TIME. It is absolutely necessary if you want to stay healthy and sane ; ).

Wish you all a lovely weekend!
