October 2015

Taken during the annual San Francisco Fleet Week airshow, the Blues four-ship formation performs a Diamond Dirty Loop during their performance.  First formed in 1946, the Blue Angels have been using the F/A-18 Hornet since 1986.  Interestingly, the Dirty Loop is one show element that is not duplicated by the USAF Thunderbirds. These are usually the oldest jets in the fleet that have been taken out of frontline combat strike units as newer models are delivered. Nikon D7100 w/80-400mm, processing with Aperture.
