I was watching everyone rave about Maybelline creamy matte lipsticks on Youtube and the color “Touch of spice” really impressed me. It was more like the Kylie Jenner lips that everyone was crazy about . By this time I already owned a lot of pinkish brown lipsticks but the fact this was matte finish made me want to buy this even more. I was trying hard not to buy anymore lipsticks until I finish any one lipstick but my inner makeup devil couldn't resist it. I saw these in target and these were much cheaper in target than walgreens( Don't know why). Colors I own: Touch of Spice, Divine Wine

The packaging is just like other Maybelline lipstick ranges like the vivids and the buffs but these are dark purple in color and feel matte as far as the packaging is concerned.

Finish: The finish of these lipsticks is claimed to be matte but I find these quite smooth to apply. These remind me of the revlon matte balms. These are highly pigmented like the Revlon matte balms and give a silicon feel while applying to lips. The lighter shades are quite slippery on the lips and darker shades apply to lips really well and are not slippery at all. These are not drying by any means as they not completely matte like MAC retro mattes. I personally consider these as satin finish lipsticks. Touch of Spice is the pinkish brown shade that suits a lot of different skin tones. Lighter skintones can pull these off really well. I am tan skin girl (nc44) so I need to use a darker lipstick/lipliner just to give my lips some definition. I usually pair this shade with Wet n Wild Urban Nights lipstick and it gives me my perfect Kylie Jenner lips which you can check out on my Instagram profile. Divine Wine is brownish maroon color but it comes off more deep red on my lips as my lips are two toned. This is my favorite lipstick of all times. This lipstick gave me confidence to rock dark lips. I am always into MAC hug me, MAC creme in your coffee, MAC Touch, MAC pattiserrie which are all my lips but better' kind of shades. I was never comfortable with darker shades but this shade made me buy so many darker shades of different brands that I once ignored on the makeup counters.

Would I recommend these? If you want to try out these I would recommend going with brighter and darker shades. Lighter shades are not that impressive as the bold shades are. I would recommend Divine Wine to everyone who is into these shades especially during fall and winter seasons. I am looking forward to try the magenta shade from the range. Swatches:

For Lip Swatches, you can check her Instagram account Pros: Highly pigmented Amazing shade range Not limited edition( Happy Happy) Wearing time of these is very long. These don't come off unless you eat or drink or remove with makeup remover. I tried removing my lip color and found that the bold shades actually stain your lips which I like. Cons: Not completely matte. (This is just a personal preference, I like my matte lipsticks to very matte) Lighter shades are quite slippery. Would I repurchase? I would definitely repurchase Divine Wine but not Touch of spice. I will also try other bright shades from the range.
