May kicked off the summer season with plenty of great new music from Banks’ ‘Drowning‘ to Hudson Mohawke ‘100HM’, while Ella Eyre officially unveiled her debut solo single ‘If I Go’. ‘There was plenty of action in the charts, as Second City claimed his first no1 single with the infectious summer single ‘I Wanna Feel’, Sam Smith achieved his third no1 with the beautiful ‘Stay with Me’, while Calvin Harris secured yet another number 1 single with the aptly titled ‘Summer’. Radio 1′s Big Weekend kicked off the summer festival season in Glasgow, which saw headliners Tiesto, Coldplay, Kasabian take to the stage over the three days. Google Play and Channel 4 teamed up with Sam Smith for the UK’s first ever live music TV advert, which saw Sam perform ‘Stay With Me’ live from London’s Roundhouse. After the infamous Solange vs Jay Z fight, Mr and Mrs Carter released a full length film trailer for their forthcoming ‘On The Run’ tour, featuring a host of actors such as Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Jake Gyllenhaal and blake lively. Now in June, we look forward to more festivals including the highly anticipated Glastonbury Festival and even more new music to add to your summer playlist.

1) Oliver Heldens x Beccy Hill – Gecko (Overdrive)

19 year old rising Dutch producer Helden, has teamed up with Beccy Hill and the talented MNEK for an infectious vocal edit of Gecko. You might recognize Beccy’s powerhouse vocals, having previously featured on Rudimental’s ‘Powerless’ and Wilkinson’s ‘Afterglow’. Once again, Beccy provides the perfect vocal for Heldens deep house, bass heavy track, with plenty of groove. Gecko (Overdrive) is set for release June 22nd. Upcoming dates for Helden include Electric Daisy Carnival and Electric Zoo festival.

2) Seinabo Sey – Hard Time

Swedish singer Seinabo Sey ( pronounced Say-na-bo Sea), has unveiled her new single ‘Hard Time’, produced by Magnus Lidehall (Katy Perry, Sky Ferreira). Sey delivers an exciting anthemic track with its looped melodic hook, defined percussive beats and powerful tribal style backing vocals. The perfect motivational track to completely lose yourself in. ‘Hard Time’ is available now.

3) Dawn Golden – All I Want (Diplo remix)

Diplo has worked his magic again, this time with a remix of Dawn Golden’s ‘All I Want’. While still keeping Dawn Golden’s serene style vocals intact, Diplo switches things up with each new bass heavy drop, adding layers of creative genius. With its trap style horns and aggressive bass, reminiscent of TNGHT, Diplo delivers an absolute monster of a track. ‘All I Want’ is taken from Dawn Golden’s LP ‘Still Houses’, however Diplo’s remix is stream only. Upcoming dates for Diplo include Tomorrowland, and Bestival with Major Lazer.

As part of Diplo reaching 1 million Facebook followers, the talented dj and producer decided to release a host of free music for his dedicated fans. The 33 minute long stream titled ‘Diplos 1 million Facebook follower Bootleg Pack‘ delivers some incredible new music such as ‘Barely Standing’ (Major Lazer Kubiyashi Beat) ft Datski & Sabi to Diplo & Grandtheft – ‘Pretty With Her Eyes’.  Get your free download in the stream below.

4) Nero – Satisfy

Major Ooof alert ahead!! Yes the powerhouse that is Nero, (Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray and vocalist Alana Watson)  made their highly anticipated return with the incredibly powerful single ‘Satisfy’. Premiering as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record, ‘Satisfy’ opens with Alana’s ethereal, eerie vocals before launching into an all out banger of a track with it’s dark ominous beats and throbbing basslines. Nero certainly know how to make a grand return, not to mention delivering one of the best drops you’ll hear this summer! With a new album due later this year, be sure to catch the electronic trio at reading and Leeds festival. Satisfy is available now.

5) Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix, DVBBS ft Aleesia – Gold Skies

What do you get if you cross three Canadians and two Dutchmen … a feel good summer anthem! Heavyweight Dutch producer Sander van Doorn has teamed up with 18 year old producer Martin Garrix (Animals, Wizard) and brotherly duo DVBBS (Tsunami) for their debut collaboration of ‘Gold Skies’. With their varying creative influences and exciting production, Golden skies is the perfect summer festival hit, complete with soaring melodies and infectious vocals from Aleesia. ‘Gold skies’ is available now via Spinnin’ Records.

6) Gorgon City ft Laura Welsh – Here For You (Bingo players remix)

With the passing of Paul Baumer from Bingo Players last December, sole member Maarten Hoogstraten has carried on creating music such as ‘Knock You Out’ and his latest remix of Gorgon City’s ‘Here For You’…. and what a remix! With its enthralling deep house piano chords and blissful synths, Maarten creatively reworks the original, sampling Laura Welsh’s infectious, soulful vocals throughout, for a real hands in the air, uplifting track. ‘Here For You’ (Bingo Players remix) is available now.

7) Flume – Insane ft Moon Holiday (Remedy & Flosstradamus remix)

Australian producer Flume, who brought us last months remix of Lorde’s ‘Tennis Court‘, has seen his ambient and synth driven single ‘Insane’ remixed by Remedy and Flosstradamus. The trap producers manage to retain the ambient nature of the original, before launching into an all out, trap-heavy drop. No word on any official release but the remix has already been supported on ‘Diplo and Friends’. Stream the trap remix below.

8) Bipolar Sunshine – Deckchairs on the Moon

Bipolar Sunshine (Aka Adio Marchant) unveiled his new single ‘Deckchairs On The Moon’, which featured as Zane Lowe’s Hottest record and single of the week. With previous releases from ‘Aesthetics’ EP to ‘Drowning Butterflies’ EP, Marchant continually raising the bar, and his new release is no exception. ‘Deckchairs On The Moon’ just screams Summer with its upbeat vibe and infectious vocals, delivering a sumptuous summer single. ‘Deckchairs on The Moon’ is available July 13th. Upcoming performances include Parklife in Manchester this weekend, Mallorca & Ibiza Rocks, Glastonbury and Longitude, before embarking on a headline tour in September & October.

9) Lee Curtiss – Drink Tickets

US producer Lee Curtiss, unveiled his new single ‘Drink Tickets’, which serves as the follow up to 2012′s ‘Lunatic Fringe’ EP. ‘Drink Tickets’ serves up hefty dose of murky bass, mixed with groove infused synths and distorted vocals. ‘Drink Tickets’ is the A side of Curtiss’ forthcoming ‘The Ride EPand is set for release June 30th via his own Visionquest label. Be sure to catch Curtiss this summer at Space, Ibiza and at Oval Space in London July 19th.

10) Jon Hopkins – We disappear ft Lulu James

Mercury prize and Ivor Novello nominee Jon Hopkins, unveiled his reworked version of ‘Disappear’, featuring the soulful sounds of Lulu James. The original, which featured as the opening instrumental track on his 2013 album ‘Immunity’, has been given a new lease of life with Lulu’s smouldering and captivating vocals. The unique collaboration between the duo see Lulu’s soulful vocals intertwine amidst hopkins skittering and off kilter looped beats. ‘We Disappear‘ is set for release June 30th via Domino Records.

11) Rhodes – Morning

Looking for a soothing breath of fresh air that will take you away from reality for a few minutes? Look no further than British singer Rhodes and his latest single ‘Morning’. Rhodes’ incredible and emotive vocals take center stage stage in this stirring single, while some subtle guitar accompanies him throughout, gradually building to its stunning close. ‘Morning’ is taken from Rhodes’ 4 track ‘Morning EP‘ and is available now. Having recently supported Sam Smith and London Grammar on tour, upcoming dates for Rhodes include Glastonbury, Latitude and Wilderness festivals.

12) Oscar #Worldpeace – MOOK

21 year old rapper, Oscar #worldpeace, unveiled his monstrous new single ‘Mook’. The single serves as the follow up to ‘Q’s’ and is the second single to be taken from his ‘Cult EP‘. With his hard hitting raw lyrics, explosive edgy beats and striking glitchy visuals, Oscar #worldpeace has generated plenty of buzz and left us anticipating further music from this rising artist.

13) Darq E Freaker – Minger

Peckham producer Darq E Freaker, released his latest single ‘Minger’; an all out intense mix of trap and UK grime that’s sure to set your senses in a flurry. The trance style track packs a punch with its screeching synths and rave style horns and is available now via Numbers. With a suitably intense and gory video directed by Sally Sibbet, ‘Minger’ is an eccentric treat for the eyes and the ears; just brace yourselves.

14) Pitto ft Woodie S – Shadows

With the success of Pittos 2011′s album ‘Objects in a Mirror are Closer Than They Appear’, Dutch producer Pitto has unveiled his new single Shadows ft fellow dutch producer/pianist Woodie S. The multilayered track delivers an infectious looped melody and driving synth-infused bassline with echoed vocals, to create a truly rousing single with plenty of depth. ‘Shadows’ is one track that you’ll have on repeat with its subtle techno and smooth deep house vibes.
