This week’s Maxi Cosi Reporters’ task was to take the Loola across town to see how it copes with transport and different terrains.
As we have been away I couldn’t take it across our town and where we are we don’t have much access to public transport, however, today we visited the Heights of Abraham and I thought this would be the perfect place to test out the Loola on various terrains.
First of all we had to get on a cable car – OK not strictly public transport, however, we found the Loola very quick to collapse and it fit in the cable car very easily. The only thing I would say is it is quite heavy and bulky to lift once folded and, if you are having to collapse it to take it onto public transport this is definitely something to bear in mind, particularly if you are on your own with a baby or small child.
When we reached the Heights, we were impressed with how easy the Loola was to use and how it coped with the very steep hills both going up and coming down. We are also amazed at how well the brakes work. I felt very confident leaving it on a slope (and trust me, some of the slopes were incredibly steep, as my calves will tell you!) and felt safe in the knowledge it would not roll even if Little Miss A got fidgety.
As well as slopes there were also some steps we couldn’t avoid! The Loola felt very sturdy bumping down the steps and Little Miss A remained comfy.
There were a couple of play parks covered in bark which obviously we couldn’t get away without visiting and the Loola rode very well over the bark and didn’t get stuck at all. It was still easy to push and Little Miss A remained comfortable.
Overall we are impressed with how well the Loola copes over different terrains. From last weeks post you will see we also took it down narrow pathways and across grass with no bother.
As for ease of use with transport, you do need quite a large boot to fit it in. We have a Zafira and it fits perfectly, however, it would not fit into my Mother-in-Law’s Toyota Yaris. Also, as mentioned above, if having to fold for public transport it is heavy and awkward to manoeuvre when folded.
Having said this, none of this puts me off the Loola. I think it is worth a little hassle transport wise for the great quality and easy to use pushchair you get. Little Miss A has been the comfiest she has ever been in this pushchair compared to anything she has used before, as you can see….
Next week I will be giving you the full low down on the Loola!
