Masala Milk (Milk with Spices)

I offer you all a warm beverage for a good night sleep :). This masala milk (masala paal) is one more famous recipe of Tamil nadu,it is a blend of various spices and nuts mixed with milk along with a pinch of turmeric and pepper powder.When drank warm it has a very soothing effect on throat and needless to say it tastes awesome,after all all the nuts,spices along with milk should taste great right :)I have once tasted this in the hotel Saravana bhavan and I tired it at home.I got the recipe from a magazine.Try it out,very healthy n tasty drink.

I did not take step wise pictures as this is hardly a recipe :)Just grind the nuts and boil along with spiced milk :) 

Masala milk
Star ingredients:milk and spices
Time:20 minutes
Serves:3
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups milk
10 whole almonds
5-6 cashews
5-6 pistachios
1 small piece cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
4 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
A pinch of saffron
Method:
1.Bring the milk to a boil along with sugar,cardamom and cinnamon.
2.Soak the nuts in warm water for 15 minutes.Soak saffron in little milk for 10 minutes.
3.Grind the nuts to a smooth paste.Add the ground nuts to the milk and boil for 5 minutes.Add the soaked saffron,turmeric,pepper powder and remove from flame.Serve warm
Notes:
1.You can add sarai paruppu as topping to this milk
2.If you have throat irritation you can replace sugar with palm sugar crystals (panakarkandu),as they have healing properties.
