Welp. I blew my budget out of the water last month. To be fair, there were some excellent sales that I took advantage of. Because let's be honest, every girl needs some new spring clothes, amiright (and they were closet staples!!)?
The damage:
1. J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer (regularly $198, purchased on sale at $188 + an extra 40% off) = $112
2. J.Crew Factory Schoolboy blazer (regularly $115, purchased on sale) = $64.50
3. J.Crew Factory Schoolboy blazer (regularly $115, purchased on sale) = $64.50
4. Maison Jules Dress (regularly $69.50, purchased on sale + 20% off coupon) = $41.70
5. Maison Jules Dress (regularly $69.00 purchased on sale + 20% off coupon) = $27.60
6. Madewell Ponte Swivel Skirt (regularly $68, purchased on sale) = $38.15*
7. Madewell Dovetail Dress (regularly $158, purchased on sale) = $49.99*
8. Levity Arrow Sandal (regularly $69.95, had DSW coupon) = $64.95
9. Crown Vintage Avery Bootie (regularly $69.95, had DSW coupon) = $64.95*
Sold: 2 shirts, a pair of flats, and a sweater = $20 (consignment shops are hard sells, ladies!)
Grand Total: $538.34
* Do not fit, taking in to exchange or return
Whoops. April is officially "no shopping month" except for the one thing I already bought (and that was only because it was in my StitchFix box and I couldn't get it at a later date). However, I am able to justify all of these purchases. Blazers are a closet staple, and I only had black and gray. Everyone needs a navy blazer (and I've worn it so many times already)!. As for the two lighter colored blazers, my office is freezing during the summer. A sweater just doesn't always cut it. So linen blazers, in light, summery colors, are the way to go (maybe with a sweater underneath - it's that cold).
I'm in dire need of dresses/skirts, as many of mine are several years old, and all of these were purchased on sale (especially that Madewell dress)! As for the shoes - every girl needs a cute pair of sandals. I first saw these booties on Jessica and was so excited for them to arrive. Unfortunately, they dig into my ankles, so I am taking them in this weekend to either exchange them for a different size/similar style or return them.
I'm pretty proud of myself for only purchasing things on sale, despite going over my budget. It's so hard to wait around but there were definitely some great sales to be had (do you think stores are as eager as the rest of us for it to finally be spring?)!
What did you buy this month?
