On Thursday, March 28, over 200 parks supporters gathered at the Omni Parker House for the Friends of the Public Garden's 49th Annual Meeting.
Leslie Adam welcomed the crowd and highlighted the significance of the Friend's mission to preserve Boston's historic greenspaces, the Common, the Garden and the Mall. Executive Director Liz Vizza gave an enthusiastic summary of this year's accomplishments and the future of the Friend's work on the three parks, including the Shaw 54th Memorial Restoration and the Boston Common Master Plan.

Chris Cook, Chief of Environment, Energy and Open Space and Commissioner, Parks and Recreation, City of Boston gave the evenings featured presentation on Competing Interests or Collaborative Challenges: The Emergent Role of our Urban Parks. Cook touched on the importance of greenspace equity and sustainability throughout Boston and emphasized the City's mission to preserve and enhance park access and quality throughout the Greater Boston area.
A lively reception followed the event.
