Malene Birger - LIFE and WORK!

Let's just say it was a bountiful year for design books, and believe me I am not complaining. In fact please keep them coming! Of course I again could not help myself and bought my final book for this year. If I could describe this book in one word it would be, "Fascinating". Malene Birger is a multi-talented woman, who is diversely creative in all aspects from art, to interior design, fashion and business! Malene was born in 1962 in Copenhagen, Denmark and was interested in both design and fashion from a very early age. She went onto completing her degree at the prestigious Danish Design School and established her first Fashion company in 1997, followed by her present day second brand-"By Malene Birger" in 2003. Malene is the creative director and force behind this global brand which is represented in 40 countries! Malene shows her interior design expertise throughout this book , showcasing photos from her homes in Spain and Scandinavia to her office atelier which are all filled with texture, antiques and above all art, which includes some of her own bold graphic paintings that have a striking child like quality mixed with Picasso appeal. Lastly, any woman who's little muse happens to be a gorgeous little white Westie is alright by me! There are so many images in this beautiful book and company that this may take a while. Enjoy!
