The association of homosexuality with pedophilia and child molestation is extremely controversial.
However there is definitely an association. Approximately 38% of child molestations are boys by men. Surveys show that maybe 3-4% of males say they have a gay or bisexual identity. However, very large numbers of male pedophiles – about 40% – have a gay or bisexual orientation. If pedophilia was just as common among gays as it is among straights, we would expect 3-4% of pedophiles to identify as gay, not 40%. So something is wrong here. Homosexual behavior is highly overrepresented among pedophiles. The truth is that a man with a homosexual orientation is ~25X more likely to molest a child than a man with a heterosexual orientation.
Nevertheless, the percentage of gay men who actually molest boys is quite small. One webpage claims that 5% of gay men are pedophiles, but I do not see how that can possibly true.
Whatever the actual figure, the overwhelming majority of gay men are not pedophilic and do not molest little boys. In fact, many gay men are sickened and outraged by this behavior. NAMBLA, the association of gay pedophiles, was once supported by the gay community but in recent years, there has been a lot of friction. Attempts by NAMBLA to march in gay pride parades recently were met with a lot of opposition and anger by large numbers of gay men.
So while there is an elevated rate of this sort of thing among gay men, nevertheless, gay men are overwhelmingly non-pedophilic, and large numbers of gay men are angered and outraged by homosexual pedophiles.
Screaming “Faggots are kiddy-fiddling short eyes Chesters!” is not only cruel, but it is also a lie.
The latest PC and Gay Lobby argument, sadly now the norm among mental health clinicians, is that gay men are no more likely to molest children or be pedophiles than heterosexual men.
This argument is constructed using a sophistry (Sophistry is typical in many Gay Lobby arguments). This sophistry is accomplished by assuming that a gay man is a man who has a sexual orientation primarily towards mature and adult males and not towards boy children. Therefore, all gay pedophiles are automatically not gay – they are pedophiles – and all gay men are automatically not pedophiles – they are gay men. You are either gay or you are a pedophile. No pedophiles are gay, and no gays are pedophiles because they are mutually exclusive.
Clever little game eh?
I do not think much of this sneaky argument, but among psychologists and psychiatrists, this is now the mandatory position on the issue of homosexuality and pedophilia.
