Magic Cookie Bars...

Magic cookie bars:
This is my first post and i want to start with a sweet.Magic cookie bars- I came to know about these through this blog.fatfreevegan.com/2007/10/vegan-magic-cookie-bars and tried them immediately.I made few substitutions since i am not vegan and result was awesome. Here I am posting the recipe with my modifications. Thank you Susan for this amazing recipe.
Magic cookie bars...
For the crust:
1 cup coarsley powderd marie biscuits (normal)
1/4 cup roasted and coarsley powdered almonds
1/4 cup molten butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
For the toppings:
1 pack philadelphia cream cheese(224 gms)
1/2 can sweetend condensed milk ( i used nestle)
2 Tbs corn flour
1 1/2 Tbs lemon juice
1/4 cup unsweetend coconut flakes
1/4 cup roasted and slivered almonds and pista
1/4 cup chocolate chips
chocolate strand for topping (optional)
Method:
Grease a baking dish (preferably spring form) lightly with butter and dust with little flour.In a large mixing bowl take the ingredients for crust and mix well till butter is incorporated.Put the mixture in the baking dish and press evenly and refrigerate for 15 minutes.Now blend the cream cheese along with condensed milk,corn flour lemon juice in a mixer till smooth. Now pour the half of the cheese mix on the crust and spread evenly and top it with almond and pista slivers.Now top the remaining mixture evenly and top with coconut flakes and chocolate chips and bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for about 20 mins or till a tester comes out clean.Allow it to cool till room temperature before cutting.
Yield :8 large wedges
Time: 40 mins (including baking time)
