Maggie Holmes Design Team : Moment Layout

By Jcchris
Hello again crafty friends! Have you seen Maggie's latest collection called Heritage? It's so beautiful and elegant, as always! To be very honest, the first thing that I will always look through a new collection is what I can fussy cut! Guess, I just can't run away with the fact that I like to cut papers manually. Haha. In my browsing moments,  I'm always happy to see floral patterns in all Maggie's collections because I know I will cut them out and use them on my projects. I just love it!Maggie Holmes Design Team : Moment LayoutTo create this layout, it is pretty easy.Firstly, I started with picking 2 pieces of patterned paper. One for fussy cutting and another one to layer. I really love the blue striped paper but it was a little too contrast on the overall feel. To tone it down, I spread some gesso to keep it subtle. Once that is done, I went on with my layout composition by arranging the fussy cutting, the photos and other sentiments that will enhance the design of my layout. Once I have arranged all the elements, I adhered them onto my layout.
Maggie Holmes Design Team : Moment LayoutI always loved using foam dots to create height and also dimension for my projects. That way they won't look flat.
Maggie Holmes Design Team : Moment LayoutTo add more texture to the layout, I added some paper crepe ruffles at the corners. It is simple but yet it gave a very delicate look to the background paper beneath.
I hope you enjoyed this layout that I created. Have a great crafting week!
