Maggie Holmes Design Team : Happiness Is Here

Hello crafty friends! Super excited to share with you a layout I created with Maggie's latest collection, Carousel again! I absolutely love all the fun little pieces and patterns you can find in this collection. It is so pretty and whimsical at the same time. 
I chose this really beautiful piece of patterned paper called Magical as my background. And as always to tone anything down, I will spread some gesso and splattered gold mists all around. Just to keep the background subtle and let other elements shine. Next, I adhered the photo right in the middle and beginning to work my way from the top to the bottom, in a diagonal position. Adding the white paper doilies and white thread sure added more textures to the layout! 

I chose a monochromatic coloured photo so that I could surround it with tons of fun colours. It was intentional. Sometimes with a little planning that will definitely help with the creative process.

 I always love including chipboard stickers on my projects. The dimension is just perfect! And that unicorn seriously captured my heart and eye!! Perfect addition!
The black & white stripes really gave the contrast that I needed among all the beautiful colours.
