I've always loved children books. I started collecting them way before I have my girls. I love the fact that a story book can attract a child to spend good amount of time in one sitting to read or listen. That pretty much work for my eldest daughter. She loves spending time with her books. She even 'created' her own stories based on what she sees in the book. I must say, she has great imaginations!
Not too long ago, I shot this photo of my daughters at their reading corner. And while browsing for products for my layout, I came across this patterned paper called Library. Instantly, I knew they would work well together.
The illustrations on the patterned paper is really fun + colorful. And on the other hand, my photo has great amount of colors too. To tone down the patterned paper, I spread some gesso to create subtle look. Once that is dried, I cut the 'books' out and arranged them in descending order. I didn't really have any design in mind but went with the flow. Really liked how it turned out.
To fill the gap, I adhered the photo at the top right. And slowly worked my way to add more embellishments like alpha stickers, ephemera die-cuts, etc.
Absolutely adore that cute puffy gold heart, it sure gave great dimension to my layout.
Just by adding the black foam alpha sticker, instantly gave a contrast look to my layout.
Thank you for letting me share again! Have a great week!Xoxo Jessy
