Lush Henna: Caca Noir: Tutorial and Review

You must be thinking I'm crazy to post anything related to Lush since they've discontinued operations in our country but hey! you will thank me when they return to India for this was one thing I searched and searched for online and couldn't get much information on. Presenting, how to use Lush henna!! Errr.. Yeah nothing new but then how do you use something that comes in the form of a bar? Use it like a solid shampoo? Scrape your head with it? Stare at it with a confused look and regret spending 1k on it? Well, here I am to show you how to use it after doing all of the above! :D

What Lush says about their product:
The darkest of our henna blocks, Caca Noir is made from a blend of the finest Persian henna and deep blue indigo hues to leave hair soft, glossy, and deeply conditioned. If you have dark hair, you’ll end up with a rich blue-black tint that blends magnificently with reddish hues. As with all our hennas, the more frequently you use Caca Noir, the more the color will intensify. After the first use, expect your hair to turn several shades darker. However, to truly release your darker side, keep applying every 4-6 weeks.
Ingredients: Indigo Henna (Indigofera Tintctoria) , Fair Trade Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) , Red Henna (Lawsonia inermis) , Irish Moss Powder (Chondrus crispus) , Clove Bud Oil (Eugenia caryophyllus) , *Citral , *Eugenol , *Geraniol , *Citronellol , *Limonene , *Linalool , Perfume
It is as simple as ABC by the way and I was thinking on the level of (a+b)^2!!

Lush Henna: Caca Noir: Tutorial and Review

• Take a piece of the 6-piece bar and put it in a ziplock cover or place it in-between two newspapers (it's like asking someone to close their eyes before thrashing them!! :P ) and crush it with a stone or your chapathi roller till it looks somewhat like shown in the top two images (horizontally). 
• Now breathe. :P Add some water to the powder and place the container with the powder and water mixture on lukewarm water till it reaches the consistency shown above. It should be of a liquid consistency so that it is easy to apply (duh!).
• That's it! Your Lush henna is ready to apply!

My experience with Lush Henna Caca Noir: I loved the subtle black color it imparted to my hair and it was easy to wash off the pack. I left it on for quite some time (if i remember right, it must have been an hour). If you want a deep rich color then it would be advisable to leave it on for some more time. I also loved the fact that it did not damage my hair and my hair felt soft and looked healthy after washing off the pack.
Remember: 

• Apply your moisturizer/Vaseline to your hairline and on your ears/behind your ears so that the henna doesn't stain your skin. 
• You can use a shower cap if you want it to turn a deep red (oxidization causes the red color) or leave it as it is for a dark blue-black hue.
