Regular lip balms are not very exciting, I know, but during wintertime they are, probably, the only items that never-ever leave my make-up bag, I always have one with me to moisturize and protect my lips. When it comes to lip balms I try to stick to something that I think would work best. That's why I choose brands like Caudalie and Nuxe. They are both brilliant but in different ways. Here comes my review of Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick.
I already told you how much I love Caudalie Lip Conditioner (read here). In fact, I think I love it even more now. I got a bit Caudalie crazy this Christmas, they had an amazing offer - a lip balm and a little hand cream for a little less than $10, I got 4 of them! Nuxe is a little different. This moisturizing stick nourishes, repairs, soothes and protects the lips, containing Sunflower and Macadamia Nut Oils, Barley Extract, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Honey, Vitamin E derivative, and it's excellent. The smell is delicious, reminds me of amazing almond orange spice cake from Bushe bakery I love so much! I can't say it has great staying on the lips power, I end up reapplying it quite often during the day; Caudalie lip balm stays on longer. It says on the Nuxe website that Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick's protective and moisturizing qualities were tested in Canada in extreme cold conditions and are proved to be effective. I'll tell you this, I live in Russia, St Petersburg, and it's not the coldest place on Earth but you still have your chances to get frozen to the bone of course. So what I'm really trying to tell you is... I don't use Nuxe when I go outside, I go for Bobby Brown Lip Balm instead. I still grumble about the slightly chemical aftertaste but this lip balm literally saved me this winter! There was not a single day when I had any issues with dry, wind-tainted, frost-bitten lips. Ok, back to Nuxe now. Price-wise it was about $10 for 4g, not too much but I finished it off pretty quickly, in nearly two weeks. My overall impressions are quite good, it has the job done moisturizing when I stay inside my appartment, but now that I've stocked up 4 Caudalie Lip Conditioners, I'm not intending to come back to it any time soon.
Have you tried Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick? What do you think of it?
