Loving the Magic

By Saltykisses @svprili

We spent a couple of nights at Manjack Cay which was lovely.

We met a great couple that has lived on the island for 22 years. They are 100% self sufficent with water catchment, solar, chickens and vege garden. What a wonderful way of life. They built the house themselves and have a lot of hand carved person wood furniture from the island.

We met another couple on a rather smallish cat (23’), they spend 3 months out of the year on their boat with their 2 kids (4,5). I made me feel kind of silly to have such a big boat but I don’t think I could do 23’ – that’s small! We’ve jumped to the next island for New Years so maybe we’ll see them here.

Back on Manjack Cay we found some great cut throughs with a bunch of starfish, sea weed and conch. the girls had a great time. I think all the sun and activity wears the girls out. After lunch Wags pretty much passes out like I’ve spiked her drink and Pri turns into a the monster of the great deep blue. They’ll get used to it.

Pri has found her new love – the SUP board. She even trys to stand up on it, if the water was a little warmer I’m sure she’d try all sorts of tricks.

I’ve been having some pretty rough days with my legs. I pop on my compression socks and I’m good to go, just not in public!!

I’m sure it’s not a good idea to take starfish out of the water but the girls were dying to touch one.

And this is how lunch should always be done. We chuck the mess overboard for the fish. Mmmmm cold spaghetti and veg. From now on all meals will be served naked (to naked kids, not me. That’s not pretty.)
