If you are on social media you've seen the growing number of virtual races creeping up all over the place! I've actually participated in a couple of them myself and found they are a win/win situation. Virtual races are races that you can run anywhere and almost any time! That's right - most of the time there is no specific date or time, only a window of time by which the race has to be completed. You can pick the day you are going to do the race, the course you are going to run and the date and time so you can fit it into your schedule.
A perk to the virtual race is that there's no getting up at the crack of dawn (or earlier) just to drive an hour across town just to make the start time only to find that it's pouring down rain right when you're supposed to start! Another perk is that most virtual runs have some kind of swag (Stuff We All Get) - whether it's a shirt or a medal or some other running gadget or another. Can't beat those perks huh?
Gone For a Run has virtual race called LOG OFF, SHUT DOWN, GO RUN! The distance for this virtual race is 10k (or 6.21371 miles for those of you that don't know your metrics). You must complete the race April 24 through April 26, 2015. It doesn't matter if you walk, run or crawl - you just have to complete the mileage on the course of your choosing.
Just sign up, receive your race packet in the mail, and run, walk, or crawl the 6.2 miles on the course of your choice during our race window, and receive a REAL finisher's medal!
