Loads of Love For Lily

Lily Allen, a name that has resonated now for quite some time, but for the past few years, one we've just been waiting on. The time has finally arrived for her to unveil something brand spanking new and, whilst you may be expecting this to be about the new John Lewis advert, it's quite the opposite. The controversial singer has used her fame, and her talent, to showcase just how ridiculous the majority of the music industry look, whilst also managing to make a fantastically satirical pop number too. This is Hard Out Here.
Loads of Love For LilyThis is probably one of the only times you'll ever see us praise the sheer amount of swearing in a song, the fact that autotune exists, suggestive and explicit lyrics and outrageous imagery ... because it is all done in the perfect way to offer one of the most controversially brilliant rants back at the industry you'll ever see.
The fact that Lily is receiving Liposuction at the start on an operating table, with what seems to be her manager asking how anyone could let themselves 'get like this', is just the beginning of what is pure talent. She then moves on to an array of various ways of taking the Mick out of the industry, inclusive of blatantly objectifying, specifically black, women, to the point that they are physically slapping each others bums, whilst pouring ridiculous amounts of drink on themselves.
Next up is the ingenious use of product placement. It's become very common for every Tom, (Robin) Thicke, and Harry (Styles) to put their product in a music video at a price. Lily decided to go one better and to get her backing dancers to smoke E-cigarettes simultaneously ... a jab at the trend to chuck in any product you can find to make some more money.
Lily obviously feels a lot about this track and, the way in which she manages to carry it off really does have a lot of merits attached. She shows that she is human, she shows that she is aggitated, but she shows that she has an incredible sense of humor and not afraid to speak up when all around her the feeling is mutual.
We've gained a new found respect for Lily Allen and suspect that her next record will be one full of Satirical pop perfection. The likes of Robin Thicke, Britney Spears, and Miley Cyrus should all be taking note and be scared ... because Lily is coming with a vengeance.
Paul.
