Little Mr A was recently sent the LEGO City Cargo Heliplane to build and review.
An addition to the LEGO City Cargo Airport the Heliplane is there to transport heavy materials; unload the quad bike from the plane and drive into the forest to collect the logs used to power LEGO City. Load up the plane and lift the logs away with the adjustable rotors and powerful engines. Put the pilot in the cockpit with a cup of coffee and his dog, ready for the journey ahead!
Aimed at ages 5-12 with an RRP of £34.99 the Heliplane features:
- 3 minifigures complete with accessories (a pilot and 2 lumberjacks)
- Twin adjustable rotors, big engines, opening cargo bay door and a winch
- Quad bike
- 5 logs, 2 chainsaws, coffee cup, storage box, chain, dog safety headset, axe and grappling hook
The heliplane, when built measures over 10cm high, 27cm long and 30cm wide.
Little Mr A had great fun building this plane and did it mostly by himself over the space of a couple of nights, with only slight assistance from Big Mr A. I think the age range is right, although younger, inexperienced LEGO builders may need a little more assistance.
When built, the plane is a great size and has lots of play value because it comes with so many accessories. I personally don’t think you need the Airport to enjoy the Heliplane and think you can have just as much fun with it, either on it’s own, or with other LEGO you may have (which, if you are anything like us, is a lot!).
Little Mr A has really enjoyed adding this Heliplane to his collection and is having great fun playing with it alongside his other LEGO.
I think it is great value for money with all the extras you get and is a really sturdy toy once built. I can see Little Mr A having lots of fun with it for a long time to come and will certainly be on the lookout for other products in this particular range of LEGO City products.
If you have a little LEGO fan I think this would make an ideal addition to their collection, or if you are looking to get your children into LEGO, it would make a great introduction set.
You can see how much fun Little Mr A had building his set in our short video, below….
