So about a week ago, a group of ladies came through on a Retail Therapy Tour through . Yes... Deanna hosts this event and ladies get on a bus and get driven to secret destinations where they get spoiled and get to shop.

Of course I HAD to get the recipe from Laurelle Olfdord-Down who put this scrumptious cocktail together and now I'm going to share it with you!

First, you need Lilac Flowers... the darkest purple is best but if you have a lighter variety, then you can some blueberries to the infusion to get more color.

I think it goes without saying, but make sure that your using flowers that have not been sprayed with any pesticides.

I doubled this recipe and canned a quick jar for later... Lilacs are a short season and I want to wow my girlfriends for this when I have them over for a garden party in the summer.

Here's the recipe:

Laurelle had 1 cup of water and 1 cup of simple syrup, but I cheated. Simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water, so I figured I would skip a step and just bring the water to a boil, dissolve the sugar then add the lilac flowers.

Bring back to a boil for 15 minutes, strain and cool.

Serve over lot's of ice and enjoy the delicate taste of this amazing spring cocktail.
