Lets Explore: Bath
Lets Explore: BathAt the beginning of 2015, Darren and I made it our mission to take time to travel and explore the world around us, so when I saw we both had a weekend off together I booked up a surprise weekend away in Bath. I thought I would share a few of the things we got up to in case you are planning a trip there soon. If not, I highly recommend getting out your diary and planning a trip as you are sure to not be disappointed. After writing this post, I have just noticed it is incredibly food heavy so I now realize why I wore my GapFit leggings the entire trip.
The Roman Baths - it was our last day and it was pouring with rain so we didn't fancy venturing around the town again so we gave in and did the typical tourist thing and visited the Roman Baths museum. I have been there before when I was younger but I am so glad we decided to visit again as this time I really appreciated the historical value of the site. I also recommended picking up the guide telephone to take around with you as it gives you so much interesting information about the displays. Yes, I am aware I sound like I am going through a mid life crisis but I am OK with that.
Bath Thermae Spa - Britain's original thermal spa with mineral rich waters is the perfect mix of contemporary design encompassed within an original historic spa. The natural, mineral rich warm waters here fell as rain around 10,000 years and and sank to depths of around 2km where it is heated by high temperature rocks before rising back up through one of three hot springs. Within the spa there are indoor pools, saunas, steam rooms, but my favorite part by a long way was the open rooftop pool where we were able to bath in water waters whilst watching the sun go down. It sounds cheesy, but it was an incredible experience and one I will definitely not forgot. The B&B we stayed at provided a key fob which entitled us to an extra hour, so if you are staying overnight it's something to check out. We paid around £32 each for 3 hours, with towels, robes, and slippers provided and it was worth every penny.
The Cosy Club  - we stumbled across this cute lounge just in time to get fed and watered. It really reminded me of The Lounges with its eclectic mixture of vintage sofas, dimly lit lamps and portrait artwork filling the walls. The food and drink were delicious and just what we needed to recharge for an afternoon of shopping. P.S. they offer Vegan and Gluten free menu's too.
Jamie's Italian - it seems everywhere we seem to go we always end up in a Jamie's Italian at some point. The platters are far too good to pass up on. Paired with our Gold Card we managed to get a free glass of Prosecco and a refresher of sorbet. Tucked away next to this restaurant was also  Jamie's Deli which was shut by the time we got there but it was full of merchandise, delicious breakfast muffins, cakes and slices galore.
HAY - this is the first store to open in the UK and we braved the torrential rain in an attempt to find it and it was 100% worth it. It has been on my list of shops to visit after seeing Estee's vlogs around Denmark and coveting all of the treats in and around her home. HAY celebrates the uncomplicated design and strives to stay solid, straight-forward, joyful and functional. Things are definitely not cheap around here, but if you love Danish design then it's one not to miss.
Chando's Deli - we originally came across Chando's Deli on a trip to Bristol and we've been craving it ever since. You can either opt to sit in enjoy or takeaway their delicious sandwiches, toasties, paninis, and which is either made on site or sourced from local producers.
