Let’s Face It, We All Love a Bad Boy

Let’s face it, we all love a bad boyRecently, Scarlett Johansson has come out as saying she is attracted to men who question authority, men who are ‘proactive’ and ‘a little bit mischievous.’ That sounds to me like nothing more than the good old bad boy.

Doesn’t every girl have a thing for bad boys? For me it started with Mark Bradley when I was thirteen. One day he ‘accidentally’ set fire to a textbook in our chemistry class, and when I saw the twinkle in his eye I was just gone… Over the years I’ve graduated to a different sort of bad boy (nowadays I would see setting fire to things as a sign of serious mental imbalance rather than mischievousness!), but the lure is still the same.

And it seems I’m not the only one! Just look at the chequered history of celebs like Patsy Kensit and Ulrika Jonsson. Patsy has been married three times (almost four!), and every single marriage was to a rock star (the almost marriage to a DJ). Ulrika has reportedly fallen for the charms of every TV personality bad boy out there.

The problem with the bad boy is that it’s all in the thrill of the chase. As soon as you’ve got them it all becomes a little bit… boring. But hey, what’s wrong with having a little bit of fun? I’m with you, Scarlett, there’s nothing better than a fiery rebel who’ll keep you on your toes, even if it does all end in tears.
