Leo Rising – January 2013
For you Leo, the accent falls on everyday work and health matters for the first three weeks of 2013. It’s time to focus on that New Year’s diet, go to the gym or just cut back after all the excesses of the end of year’s festivities. It’s back to the grind of work too, and initially your mind and energies will be attuned to dealing with details and paperwork and you will be determined to get things right and make a good impression with your employers. To this end, you will be bright, breezy and inventive in the first week of January although on 6th and 7th you may be rather upset by domestic disputes. Mars making a square to Saturn will be the cause of this, as the planet of action will be moving through your 7th of partnerships, so relations with your spouse or lover could be fun and romantic, but also tense and prone to arguments. At the very least, you will be able to get any issues out into the open so that you can discuss them freely. Later in the month, you will be able to concentrate on dealings with people more, as the Sun and Mercury shift into Aquarius and this area of your chart too.
Venus begins the month in your creative 5th house so away from work you will still be in a fun and sociable mood. This is a time for going out with friends and having a good time. Trips to the cinema, concerts, sports events and all types of entertainment are highlighted and will be enjoyed. As Venus moves into Capricorn on 9th January you may have some unusual or unexpected news or encounters with talented or foreign people. Passions will be high in mid-month as Venus meets up with Pluto and makes a tense square with Uranus making relations with work colleagues especially tricky as they try to control your output or put heavy demands on you. You may feel lucky later in the month but beware of overconfidence in pursuit of your dreams. These will be achieved through cooperation with others in due course once Jupiter starts moving direct, but they may not be completed just yet. The Leo full Moon on 27th January occurs in your 1st house so you may find that someone opposes your ideas at this point, especially people who advise you or your spouse or permanent partner.
