The past couple of weeks Little Miss A has been really taking a huge interest in books. This has been helping her speech come on no end. We are starting to get a lot more words and sounds and she is starting to recognize quite a few animals.
She knows what noise a fish makes, and we get lots of roars when she sees lions, bears, dinosaurs, etc. Another new word she has learnt is ‘shoes’. A lot of the books she has seem to have a ‘shoe’ picture in them and now when we ask her we get a very definite ‘oooooess’ sound!
I have always been a little worried that perhaps Little Miss A wasn’t as forward as she could be with her speech, however, I am thinking that it is just because she was so active so early she just didn’t want to sit still and practice. Now she has mastered walking (and running!) she seems much happier to sit still for a while and I am really pleased with how her speech is coming on.
