Le Grenier De Notre Dame

By Yonni @vegandthecity
I am on my way to Belgium for work, but I had the gift of flying into Paris to visit with a friend and her family ~ now an even more dear friend ~ for the first four days of my time away.
I have never been to Paris. My parents have multiple times. My son has ~ with my parents. But not me. So in four days I was determined to sleep little and tour much. My only requirements food wise were wine and fresh baguette.
My friend, Robin, was an incredible sport, as she was willing to see anything I hoped to see. I landed at the airport at 12:30pm on Saturday, after being greeted at her apartment with red wine and a fresh baguette, by 2 pm we were with her whole family touring the remarkable Rodin museum.
It was incredible. I fell in love with Paris at first sight, enjoyed passing the almost ridiculous gas pump and the curious Musee les Invalides and Militaire Ecole. I appreciated walking, albeit in the rain, past Notre Dame and Le Petit Palais all along the Seine, all capped off with dinner at a vegetarian restaurant!
Yes, on my first night in Paris, I had an intentionally vegan meal. Not a croissant or Brie or jambon or pate or moulles frites , or even a salad sans fromage.
At Le Grenier de Notre Dame I had an avocado and mango tartare as a starter, with some Bordeaux, and then a macrobiotic plate! Seaweed, a delicious salad, tempeh slices, brown rice and some cooked vegetables. It was wonderful!
I'll be posting more about my time there, so start making a list!Le Grenier de Notre Dame
