The University of Oregon paid extremely controversial gay columnist Dan Savage $24,000 to give a sleazy talk to university students about sex. The talk included discussions of the dangerous and very popular gay activity known as fisting (surveys show that up to 37% of gay men have been fisted) and gorilla suit fetishes, which I assume is one of many kinky gay male paraphilias.
What advantage did the university receive from this waste of money. A university spokesman enlightens us:
“The return a university gets from sponsoring programs where students are exposed to nationally prominent resource people is in the form of sparking thought and considering new perspectives,” Keith Van Norman, marketing manager for the University Health Center.
According to the campus newspaper The Daily Emerald, “throughout the lecture, Savage addressed questions of a wide variety of sexual topics including the importance of sexual education, to kinks and fetishes, experimentation and communication as well as same-sex marriage. As he flipped through from card to card, he answered questions dealing with the sexual act of fisting to gorilla suit fetishes; the roaring response from the audience was unanimous.”
But when asked how to pleasure a woman down under, Savage responded: “Fuck if I know!”
Well that certainly figures.
The Register-Guard reports the speech was also partly a launch party for the university’s new smart phone app that teaches students how to have kinky sex. Videos in the application show two women kissing on a bed and later two naked men on a bed are discussing the type of sex they are going to have. The program was developed as a “sex health” tool. All with taxpayer funding and student tuition activity fees, of course. Hey, look what kind of an education you are getting for all that tuition money!
Wait a minute. I thought our universities were supposed to be underfunded?
Can you tell me how showing men how to take a fist up their ass is going to help them get a job or make them more productive on the job. What is the benefit to society of this lecture. A boom in manufacturing jobs for latex fisting gloves? In addition to providing real world job skills, university education is supposed to produce a more well rounded human being. Can you tell me how learning to accommodate a fist in your rectum will help to produce such a citizen?
